Our apartment near the Spanish Steps was fantastic! The agents at Holiday Velvet helped us pick the perfect apartment in a great lively location. Above dozens of restaurants and bars our apartment was in the heart of Rome’s Fashion district. One of our favourite parts of the day was coming home. We felt like such locals. The apartment was very clean and we had everything we needed. I will certainly be recommending Hotel Velvet to both friends and family.

Having never booked accommodation or transport over the internet before, I was relieved that everything worked out just fine. The shuttle van driver met us as arranged at Fiumicino Airport and whisked us to Carrozze at great speed, often weaving through narrow one-way streets crowded with pre-Christmas shoppers. Rosie was there to greet us, show us around and collect the remainder of the rental. She was also very helpful in explaining the whereabouts of the supermarket, underground railway station and local sights. Apart from the crazy drivers who did not always respect the traffic lights, we felt safe and the map provided helped us to get around the city easily. All in all, our visit to Rome was full of happy memories. From Rome we travelled by train to Florence, Venice, Lucerne and Paris then flew to England for a week before returining home to NZ on New Year's Day. I would recommend the Carrozze apartment to other families for the following reasons: value for money, clean, comfortable, quiet location, handy to underground station, supermarket, restaurants, map provided. (Just a couple of suggestions: A spare key would have been helpful for a family group so we could split up and do different things. Some tea and coffee sachets would have been nice on arrival.) Thankyou for all your help in getting our holiday off to a great start. Rome was amazing and well worth another visit in the future.

We recently travelled to Europe with our family of four adult children and Rome was our first stopover. After travelling for 36 hours, we were greeted at Fiumicino Airport by our pre-booked driver and whisked to Carrozze Apartment near the Spanish Steps. Rosie gave us a warm, friendly welcome (in English) and was most helpful with her suggestions on where to shop and how to get around the city. We particularly appreciated the quiet location of the apartment to catch up on our sleep after 36 hours of non-stop travelling. It was fun trying out our Italian and shopping for all our culinary needs at the supermarket around the corner and the subway was only 5 minutes' walk from Carrozze. Although the shops in the vicinity were a little out of our price range (all the famous clothing labels), we enjoyed soaking up the atmosphere. It was disappointing that the Spanish Steps and other famous monuments were under repair and covered in scaffolding. Still, the sights we saw were amazing! The best features of Carrozze Apartment were its location, its clean and comfortable facilities and the price per night for our family of six (good value for money). I would definitely recommend pre-booking transport from the airport after long-haul flights.

Hi James, Just a quick note to let you know that we are enjoying our stay in the apartment in Rome. Great position. Paid Rosie the remainder of balance and cleaning fee. She's lovely. Hope to use your services again in the future. Regards

The apartment is probably the best located apartment for a tourist in Rome. When you walk out the front door you take three giant steps and are in a lovely outdoor cafe. Easily walkable to the all of the sites. In 5 days we took one taxi - everything else was by foot. The apartment is spacious and very clean. Furnishings are adequate. Beware of the stairs - it's two good size flights up and no lift. But it helped keep the vacation pounds at bay! I would happily stay here again. The price to quality ratio is very good.

The Carrozze apartment was fantastic and Rosie was an absolute gem. Very helpful and kind. The size and location of the apartment is magnificent - roomy for Rome and close to everything you need. I would definitely recommend this apartment for a stay in Rome. We have used Holiday Velvet previously and once again would like to thank James for being so helpful in organising our Rome accommodation.

The apartment was in a great location and very clean! It was quiet and there is a great restaurant right across from it. Could easily walk to most sights, taxis are plentiful just up the street @Spanish Steps. There is even a market very close! Rosie was helpful clear and available if needed. the only minor drawback was that one bedroom was an interior room and kind of dark.

The property was in a great location and the lady that met us there was great. She gave us great information on the city and how to get about. The only problem we had was the air conditioner in the double bedroom did not really work. That bedroom was very warm.. Overall the apartment was in a great location, very clean, and we felt it was great value for money. Thank you.

Very nice to be met by someone who could settle you in. Apartment was great except it was very disappointing that the oven did not work as that is part of the reason you choose to stay in an apartment. Very clean. Would definitely stay again! THANKYOU

Review:
The location of Carozze is superb - it allows visitors the opportunity to begin to unravel the many layers of Rome that sit underneathe the statues, monuments, ruins etc etc. Stay for at least a week so that the tiny streets and lanes can be explored and Rome can be seen at any time of the day - the mood changes as radically depending on which moment you chooose to join the streets below the apartment..... Carozze itself is comfortable and quite spacious, though 2 couples have little privacy as a stainglass window seperated the 2 bedrooms. Not all the lights worked in the back bedroom, which while not a drama, was an irritation. The big living/dining area is perfect for pre drinks, dining and lounging after dinner - the kitchen is more than adequate but again, needs brighter lighting! If I was selling this place, it would be 'position, position, position!!!'

The appartment was as dessribed, in a central location two minutes from the Spanish Steps (you could see the top of the steps from the window). There is also a metro station by the Spanish Steps. Restaurents and shops just outside and a supermarket round the corner. Somebody was there to meet us at the agreed arrival time and we were able to leave luggage there until 5.00pm on the day of departure. Clean and tidy on arrival and a large Easter Egg lay on the table for us.

Location of apartment superb, couldn't have wished for better. Rosie, the maid, met us on arrival at the Spanish Steps and was fantastic. She gave us great tips as to where to go, best places to eat etc. Thanks Rosie. Apartment quite basic but more than adequate. All in all we had a fantastic time and would thoroughly recommend staying here.

We stayed at Carrozze at the end of our one month holiday around Europe. It was truely a pleasant experience to walk into to a fully equipped apartment in the most perfect location in Rome. We felt safe and delighted to finish our holiday at Carrozze. Rosie, your local contact, was a wonderful woman who went above and beyond to ensure our stay was memorable. Thank you. We would love to visit again.

Review:
This apartment is in a fantstic location, very quiet, clean and there is lots of room. The second bedroom is off the living area but didn't cause too much of a problem for our children. Rosie, who meets you, is fantstic and a big help when you arrive. The apartment is located on the first floor and there isn't a lift. The stairs weren't a problem compared to other apartments we have stayed in such as Venice.

Review:
Spacious apartment with large sitting room, we were only a family of 4 but could accommodate 6 comfortably. Kitchen perfectly adequate for our needs but not huge if planning on cooking. Bathroom good - could do with changing towels midweek. Very comfortable. Air-conditioning difficult to manipulate, best in sitting room which was the coolest room anyway. Up two flights of marble steps (almost 40 in total). TV had BBC World News. Fabulously central yet no noise disturbance. Rosie was an excellent hostess. Best cappucino in Rome at Cafe Greco on way to Spanish Steps, only €1.35 if you stand at the counter. Supermarket close-by. Good restaurants difficult to find in the area. Would definitely stay again & recommend to others.
