- This rental is just outside of Sorrento in the town of Massa Labrense. It was a little difficult to find but after a phone call from the local police station (which we found out he works at), our host was gracious enough to drive to our location in town and escort us to the villa. We were delighted with the amazing view. Each of the 4 bedrooms has a set of double glass doors that open to the covered balcony. From the balcony we had a spectacular view of the Mediterranean. To the left is the island of Capri, the sun set to the right of Capri and to the far right was Naples. There were numerous fishing boats in the morning and an occasional cruise ship all lit up in the late evening. The villa was only a short walk from sea side where we enjoyed a stroll. At first we thought we wanted to be right in Sorrento but after our trip we were glad to have this rental. Way too many other rentals in Sorrento have little or no view of the sea (or much of anything) and most have to deal with traffic noise. This rental was very peaceful, 5-10 minutes from Sorrento and 3 minutes from Massa Labrense. We were able to park right outside our villa where many others in the Amalfi Coast area require 100-200 steps up or down. Several of the other towns in the Amalfi Coast area were more difficult to get to and quite a bit more hilly so this location proved to be ideal. The villa was exceptionally clean with the convenience of a fully functional kitchen, dinning area, living area and a washing machine. The washing machine was small but adequate. I was a little disappointed in the lack of a few things such as paper towels, napkins and trash bags that we ended up buying. Also there was a slight unpleasant odor in the back bathroom. Overall these did not diminish our enjoyment of the villa. Our host was wonderful and provided maps, a book of some tour options and answered all our questions. His residence was within eyesight and walking distance of the villa, if we had any needs. Without question we would enjoy using this rental again should the occasion arise.
