- The apartment itself was lovely, and it was great to have the garden to sit in in the evenings. A few (very small) gripes. When we arrived the owner was under the impression that we had booked only one of the two bedrooms. She made me get my paperwork out to check this, and was a bit irritated with Holiday Velvet for not confirming that we needed the two bedrooms. It was OK, as the second bedroom was fully made up and ready, but it did worry us a bit, as we are one middle-aged and one older lady, and so we didn't wish to share a double bed! Also, we were unfortunate to visit Florence during a rather cold spell. There was no heating (that we could find how to operate) in the apartment, and as a result we were rather cold. Lastly, the charge for utilities on the fact sheet was +/- 1 euro per day. Christina, the owner, was unable to be there when we checked out (owing to an arrival at another apartment at the same time) so she suggested we leave 10 euros on the table when we left. It didn't occur to me at the time, but I thought that was rather a lot, bearing in mind we were there for just three nights. We did no cooking (didn't even boil a kettle), used one or two lights for a couple of hours a day, and each had a shower each day. However, overall, the apartment lived up to expectation and was perfectly nice, and certainly very clean. The second bedroom was in the Tower, with a steep staircase, and so might not be suitable for older or infirm people.

- Property was very clean, in a good location, and very quiet. Christina was very helpful in making us feel at home. Only negatives - a storm had damaged the tv aerial so no tv while we were there. Also the apartment did not have laundry facilities so you either use the nearest lavanderia or wash clothes in the sink.
