Buenos Aires:
Buenos Aires covers an area of around 200 square kilometers and is divided into 48 barrios. One of the great things about Buenos Aires is that each barrio has a distinct personality.
Architectural, social and economic differences can be seen when traveling between barrios which makes exploring the city a truly unique experience.
Palermo:
Do not miss:
Palermo Parks, Plaza Serrano, Malba, Jardin Botanico Carlos Thays, Jardin Japones, Jardin Zoologico, Museo Evita, Alto Palermo Shopping Mall, Hipodromo Argentino, Campo Argentino de Polo de Palermo.
Palermo is the largest barrio of Buenos Aires and so over the years has developed many sub-divisions. The area is full of great restaurants, bars and shops as well as beautiful houses and parks.
Las Canitas area of Palermo:
Las Cañitas was historically a slum area but is now an up market sub sector of Palermo full of trendy bars, fancy restaurants and nightclubs. Las Canitas refers to the few blocks around the Campo Argentina de Polo, another must see on any trip to Buenos Aires.
The area is quiet by day with lovely cafes, restaurants and boutiques and by night comes alive with the street Baez overflowing with locals and foreigners on terraces outside restaurants and bars. It is a 30 something upscale area. 5 minute taxi ride to other Palermo areas but much quainter than the others and more popular with locals. 5 minute ride to Placa Italia, Palermo Park, the Botanical Gardens, Buenos Aires Zoo and the Rural. It is also a short walk to a subway stop.
