History of Buda

The influence of Buda's communist past is clear throughout the city. Memento Park has an extraordinary collection of statues of the old Communist leaders, which were clearly designed to show the Communists as national heroes. After the overthrow of communism, the statues were removed from the city center and taken to this park at the southern edge of Buda.
