Here at Holiday Velvet we are always looking at ways to increase the distribution of our property portfolio to partners around the world. This strategy also ensures we have less dependency on more traditional styles of on-line marketing, and at the same time offers opportunities for affiliates to earn a share of the commission that Holiday Velvet generates.

We have developed different formats that can be easily incorporated into an affiliate’s website. There are three main solutions that we offer:

Solution 1: Text Links or Banner Image Links
Firstly text links or branded ad links can be added to the affiliate’s website. A customer would click on this link and be diverted to our site where they could make an enquiry or a booking.

Solution 2: Search Box for your website
Secondly we can insert a search box into the affiliate’s website where the customer adds their destination and travel dates and they would be navigated to our web site where the available options would be displayed.

Solution 3: XML integration
Finally we offer the full XML feed integration where the affiliate website can show over 6,000 apartments with live availability and pricing. If the customer decides to book then this stage is handled on our check-out page but with the affiliates logo still showing. One of the other benefits of the XML feed is that the property pages can be offered in eight different languages so the affiliate can tap into markets not previously explored.

We have an experienced team of web developers who can assist with all aspects of the integration, and are happy to answer all questions. As we manage the payment and booking stage of the process we also provide invaluable customer service support to answer all customer queries.

Adding top travel blogs to the Times' list "The top 100 blogs" article on Sunday 15th of february 2009.

When I saw the Time’s Culture supplement last Sunday I jumped with joy: the cover page boasts “The top 100 blogs- Intelligent, Informative, bizarre: there are 200 million blogs in the world. Don’t panic we’ve pick the best”. I avidly searched for the article inside the supplement just to find out that they had not listed any travel blogs – whether in this first part or in next week’s part 2.

So nothing on travel? How disappointing! The article divides the top 100 into world affairs, celebrities, style and words sections to name but a few. Next week we’ll see the contributors pick on film, art, theater, pop and more. I mean I highly recommend the article: Did you know that Paris Hilton runs a blog on myspace? Or that seeing a Dutchman running away from his camera is most entertaining?

Seriously now, I can recommend the snippet “How to search the Internet for blogs“. If like me you are tired of technorati (whose list of authoritative travel blogs is completely flawed) and are looking for good alternatives, the article recommends <a href="http://www.google.com/blogsearch?hl=en"href=http://www.blogpulse.com/" target="_blank">Blogpulse and the new Google blog search.

In case the Times journalists are reading this article I thought I’ll let them in on some top travel blogs out there.
