About Berlin Mitte

This Berlin apartment rental is situated in the district Mitte in the Invalidenstraße, just 400m away from the former border-crossing Invalidenstrasse and Mauerstreifen, the Charité, and the museums 'Naturkundemuseum' and 'Hamburger Bahnhof'. Within a few minutes walk, you can get to various museums, the Regierungsviertel, exhibitions and the historic centre of Berlin Mitte. There is an endless list of historical and magnificent squares and buildings. The best known monument of Berlin is the “Brandenburger Tor”. From here you can easily explore the magnificent boulevard “Unter den Linden” with the famous “Adlon” hotel leading to the “Karl Liebknecht Strasse” street to the “Fernsehturm” tower; Berlin’s highest building.

You will pass the “world time clock” and the popular Humboldt University, the national Opera and finally the “Museumsinsel” which is an ensemble of famous museums and a Unesco world heritage sight. The “Friedrichsstrasse” is nowadays a shopping street with shopping centers such as the Lafayette gallery and high class shops. To one direction it leads to the former “Checkpoint Charlie” and to the other direction to the “Oranienburger Strasse”.

The “Gendarmenmarkt” is one of Berlin’s most beautiful squares. Also located here is the “Schauspielhaus” theater, the German and the French Dome. Worth a visit is also the “Dorrotheenstädtische Friedhof” cemetery with the graves of writers Hegel, Brecht and Schinkel as well as Berlin’s “Nikolaiviertel” quarter that has kept its 18th century’s small town charm . The “Neue Regierungsviertel” (new governmental sight) is located between the districts of Berlin Mitte and Tiergarten.
