Vacation Rental Description

Il Bel Nidino is a comfortable one bedroom Tuscany cottage with views of Lake Trasimeno on the border of Tuscany and Umbria. Set in a Mediterranean pine grove, it is located just north of Castiglione del Lago with its spectacular castle/fortress, walled medieval center and ferry service to other towns and islands of the lake. A nearby pedestrian and bicycle path encircles the lake through fields of wheat and sunflowers, and there is a small beach fifty meters from the front door. Always wanted to live in Italy?

As soon as you enter Il Bel Nidino you feel welcomed by its traditional Italian furnishings and warm atmosphere. Lofty ceilings make it elegant and keep it fresh in the summer. There is one queen bed in the bedroom and a queen size sofa bed in the living room. There is one bathroom with shower, a washing machine and a fully stocked country kitchen with a dishwasher, table and four chairs. There is a TV with DVD and a radio/CD player. In the back there is a shady lawn and patio furnished with table and chairs. The cottage has its own private parking space in the front yard.

About Beach Rentals Umbria

From May to September there is a bar/restaurant with pizza and ice cream at the beach; just across the highway there is an excellent year round restaurant. You can cook delicious pastas with fresh local ingredients from nearby supermarkets or eat savory meals at the numerous restaurants just five minutes away in Castiglione del Lago. This capital city belongs to the Slow Town movement which means no fast foods are allowed, only the best of local cuisine which includes many types of fish from the lake.

Every Wednesday morning there is a colorful street market in the historic center. The stunning ancient hill town of Cortona, famous for Under the Tuscan Sun, is only 12 kilometers away. Its history, art, restaurants and lively Saturday morning market are unforgettable treats for any visitor to Tuscany. Distances to other fascinating cities are: Siena (60 km); Perugia (40 km); Assisi (55 km). Tuscan wine areas such as Montalcino (Brunello), Montepulciano (Vino Nobile), and Chianti country are thirty minutes away. Il Bel Nidino is easy to find just off the main highway near major freeway connections. Its central location between Tuscany and Umbria makes touring pleasurable. There is a train station with links to all major Italian cities located 7 kilometers away in Terontola-Cortona (on the Rome-Florence line).

One block from the station there is an agency that rents out and delivers cars, scooters and bicycles.
