Basque Country is a wonderful area for a relaxing vacation, offering you the chance to unwind and relax. There are some quality accommodation rentals and villas available to rent in this region and there are some great scenery and towns to visit.
The Basque Country, located in and around the Pyrennees, has a French (Pays Basque) and Spanish Part and includes popular holiday destinations such as Bayonne, Biarritz and St-Jean-de-Luz in France, and Pamplona, San Sebastian and Bilbao in Spain.
Bayonne is a trendy city with a small town charm. It has markets, two museums and even a citadel.
Biarritz is a delightful old atlantic resort plus staying in Biarritz offers the proximity to a host of other attractions: mountains, rolling countryside, ancient towns, and of course northern Spain.
St-Jean-de-Luz is a lively fishing port with medieval basque architecture. This cosmopolitan town is within a horseshoe bay where the beach is adjacent to the harbour.
In Spain Pamplona is the historical capital of the Basque Country. The city of Pamplona is world renowned for its famous San Fermin festival with the Running of the Bulls, usually from the 6th July to the 14th July each year.
Situated only 20 km from the French border, the town of San Sebastian is known to be the most chic sea-side resort in Northern Spain. San Sebastian has three good beaches, La Concha, Ondarreta and Zurriola. Basque Country is a great location for family and group short term vacations and a great chance to experience the Spanish countryside.
