Bali Villa: Villa Azaya

This contemporary  large five-bedroom villa in Bali with a pool is situated just 50 metres from the beach in an extensive garden and located in the Petitenget/Seminyak neighbourhood on Bali’s southwest coast.  The extensive, shingle-roof property – which is adorned with natural materials, soothing shades of whites, creams and browns and teak furnishings – consists of a large 2-storey building, a separate guesthouse, a stand-alone gym, a swimming pool and a gazebo and is a fabulous option for a large group of friends or families and can comfortably sleep up to 10 guests in 5 en-suite bedrooms. 

The main building in this Seminyak holiday accommodation consists of a living room, a dining room, a kitchen, a guest office/library, 2 master bedrooms and a guest bedroom.

On the first floor, there is a spacious living room which is located poolside with glass doors on two sides that can be fully opened to create an open-air tropical living experience and features tiling flooring, upholstered chairs and segmented sofas and is equipped with a 42” satellite TV and a DVD player.  The dining room has a dining table that can seat 12 guests and sliding doors that open on to the pool terrace.  The kitchen is open-plan, fully-equipped and is complete with a central island and stainless steel appliances.  There is an additional extensive service kitchen behind the main kitchen.

Additionally, there is a small air-conditioned guestroom on the ground floor complete with a double bed, teak wardrobes and a built-in desk.  The en-suite bathroom has a large walk-in rainshower.

On the upper floor, there are 2 sizeable master king-size bedrooms.  One is a ziplock bed that can be converted into twin beds for more flexibility.  Each features air conditioning, teak flooring and teak wardrobes, a dressing area, a daybed, satellite TV and an en-suite bathroom.  They both have a rooftop terrace with a view of the garden.  The en-suite bathrooms are fitted with a bathtub, a double vanity unit and a toilet. One of the master bathrooms has the additional facility of a walk-in shower complete with a glass door and a built-in seat.

The guest office and library is located here as well and is comfortably furnished with sofas, chairs, an ottoman and a coffee table and equipped with a computer and fax printer.

Passing through a wooden bridge over an ornamental pond will lead you to the separate and private guest house which features an open-air living and dining room complete with a small kitchen and 2 additional en-suite bedrooms.  The living space is equipped with sectional sofas a dining table for 6 guests, satellite TV/DVD player, Nintendo and Wii.  The kitchen is fitted with a gas hob and a fridge. 

There are 2 bedrooms, one with a king-size bed and the other with a king-size (ziplock) that can be converted to twin beds offering additional options for travelers.  Each bedroom features tile flooring, a soaring roof and glass doors which directly open onto the garden and are complete with a wardrobe, a desk and a TV.  Both have an open-air shower and a bathtub.

Down in the manicured garden and pool area, there is a large open-sided ‘bale’ pavilion with a raised wooden floor and a high roof with ceiling fans, rattan sofas and a dining table for 8 guests.  The garden is stunningly landscaped around the swimming pool with palm trees and other flowering plants and trees.  A timber deck is furnished with sun-loungers and umbrellas that border the infinity-edge pool.

The pool area is also complete with a bar, a shower and a guest washroom with a toilet.  In a separate, standalone building there is an air-conditioned gym complete with a treadmill, an exercise bike, an indoor rowing machine, a multigym, free weights, an adjustable bench, stretching and yoga mats and an exercise ball. There is also mini fridge and an iPod dock here as well.

Guests benefit from a secure and private entrance, a parking area, iPods in every living area, Wi-Fi Internet access throughout and air conditioning in the bedrooms.

This Seminyak holiday accommodation offers easy access up to the mountains and rice terraces on the western slopes; it is 80 minutes from the famous cultural and artistic town of Ubud, and just 5 minutes from the start of the Sunset Route – the gateway to the eastern side of the island.

The nearby ‘Nirwana Bali Golf Course’ was designed by Greg Norman, and voted the number 1 golf course in Asia; it is situated beside the dramatic, waved-lashed sea temple of Tanah Lot. For horse lovers, the ‘Umalas Equestrian Centre’ is just a few kilometres away to the north.
