This enchanting two-bedroom Bali vacation villa rental is situated within a beautiful walled garden on over 1,600 square metres and located in the heart of the tiny fishing and temple village of Seseh on the southwest coast of the island.  Complete with a 20-metre swimming pool, the villa which is a blend of traditional Balinese décor and architecture mixed with contemporary, stylish, modern and antique furnishings is a series of 5 stand-alone pavilions including an open-sided living pavilion, an air-conditioned media room and 2 bedrooms in separate stand-alone pavilions sleeping up to 4 guests.

Crossing the threshold of the villa and over a lily pond, you will experience the warm hospitality, history and culture of Bali that awaits you in this accommodation in Cemagi.  The living pavilion is located close to the main entrance overlooking the garden and pool. Distinguished by a vaulted roof supported by eight wooden pillars, it is open on three sides and furnished with a comfy, oversized daybed, and a low dining table sourced from a Javanese ‘warung’ (eatery), surrounded by floor cushions.

Behind the living pavilion is an air-conditioned media room which doubles as an office. It is fitted with built-in desks and a sofa area equipped with a satellite-channel TV and DVD player.

The semi- open-air dining room shares a pavilion with the kitchen, and the two rooms are linked via a service bar that can be closed for privacy. The dining room is furnished with an antique table, 6 chairs, an iPod and dock, ceiling fans and electric blinds.  A guest washroom is positioned to one side of the dining room.

There are 2 standalone air-conditioned bedroom pavilions and each features an open-air terrace, a soaring roof, a king-size netted bed, a dressing area with wardrobe, a wall-mounted LCD screen satellite-channel TV, a DVD player and a safe deposit box.  The en-suite bathrooms both have a terrazzo bathtub for two and an outdoor, walk-in rainshower.

The large garden has a 20 x 4 metre swimming pool as its focal point and is bordered by a candi stone deck furnished with one double and two single Sunbrella sunbeds. There is also an outdoor pool shower.

The antique ‘bale gede’ is a traditional open-sided pavilion which rests beside the swimming pool and is furnished with 2 timber built-in beds.  Additionally, there is a jineng “a traditional thatched Balinese rice barn” which serves as a place to relax or as a playhouse for kids.

Guests benefit from LCD screen satellite channel TVs and DVD players, an iPod and 3 docking stations, imported kitchen equipment, local calls and a genset to ensure that the villa always has electricity in case of power failures. There is also a secure covered car-park and a staff service area.  A Wi-Fi Internet connection is at an additional cost.

The villa boasts a dedicated team of staff including 1 manager, 3 housekeepers, 1 chef and 1 cook, 2 security guards, 1 gardener and 1 pool attendant.

This Bali vacation villa rental is located a few kilometres to the northwest of Canggu, a towering banyan – and one of the ‘elders’ of the tree kingdoms – heralds the turning to Seseh, a traditional beachside village approached via an avenue of coconut palms.

The village of Seseh still retains the customs and culture of old Bali with rice being planted and harvested in the fields, fishing boats returning in the morning with the night’s catch, as well as frequent, colourful processions to the large beachside temple.

Historically, the fishing village of Seseh was important in the 18th century when the temple was established as the major temple of the former Kingdom of Mengwi. At that time it was also a small trading port inhabited by a number of families of Chinese decent. Likewise there are records of Chinese-style
shop houses in Banjar Sogsogan during this period.
