About Amsterdam Red Light District
The appartment is situated in one of the oldest neighbourhoods of Amsterdam called 'the rosse buurt'. It thanks its name of the nearby commercial red-light district where since there were people in amsterdam, life came together in this area. Famous madams, tourist peep-shows, typical neighbourhood old cafe's, new fashion nightclubs, historic canal buildings, museums and remarkable good restaurants surround the area of the Lange Niezel. In the direct enviroment of Lange Niezel there is Dam Square with its Palace on the dam, Nieuwmarkt with its old gate to Amsterdam, the Damrak with its Beurs van Berlage first stock exchange market in the world, the Kalverstraat/ Leidsestraat shopping area and the fresh markets around Nieuwmarkt.
