And this touristic Bridge is made out of wood and painted white, built in 1934. Since this bridge was very narrow, it was popularly called the Skinny Bridge. The bridge is mechanized and automated. Today only cyclists and pedestrians use the bridge. Several times a day it is opened for ships as well as canal boats to pass underneath when it is closed.

The bridge is decorated with 1200 light bulbs at night and is the setting for many movies such as the most famous James Bond movie, Diamonds Are Forever .
