Had another enjoyable stay at Old South. Although it wasn't essential we were disappointed that the TV didn't work.

We felt the location was excellent. It was great that there was a washing machine however, not having a front loader at home made it confusing and a brief instruction card would be useful. We couldn't work out how to use the oven but that wasn't a major problem. Good value for money and really liked having the space (much more than a hotel).

Charming, light filled apartment. Our friends have two small children who enjoyed the space and loved the fact they were above a busy chemists shop - no sleepy neighbours to wake in the morning as they rushed about in excitement. Also a very good organic supermarket close by, the more ordinary Albert Heijn and Super de Boer also within walking distance - or cycling on quiet residential streets. Other shopping in the neighbourhood is very chic. Two tram lines to choose from in very easy distance to get into the town centre, or out to the Park and Ride under the Olympic stadium where you can keep a car (cheaply - only 6 Eu a day, undercover and secure). also within walking distance of Vondel Park, musea, Concertgebouw... Slight downer was the sofa - WHITE covers, a little alarming for sticky hands, but otherwise great. Stairs were typically Amsterdam, steep and narrow, but, that's what living like a local is all about ;-).

Swift and cheerful key handover at office. Airy apartment with beautiful, shady, loggia-style balcony behind. Large bedroom, comprehensive kitchen. Cornelis Schuystraat is one of the classiest shopping districts in Amsterdam. The apartment is a minute or two from the organic supermarket, equidistant between two tramlines, a wealth of buses, a short walk from the Vondelpark, the concert building, van Gogh and Rijksmuseum and long, leafy Amsterdam streets, lined with endlessly varied brick built Townhouses. A wonderful apartment for a couple or a young family.

Cancellation Policy

More than 14 days: In case of cancellation of a confirmed booking with more than 14 days prior warning, 100% of of the deposit amount is non refundable.

Within 14 days: Less than 14 days prior to arrival: 50% of the total accommodation cost will be charged.
Within 24 hours: Less than 24 hours prior to arrival or cancellation without prior notice "no-show": 100% of the total accommodation cost will be charged.
If the client abandons the property, he loses all rights to any eventual refund or rebate.
If there's a "no-show" without the client giving prior warning to Holiday Velvet , the client is liable for 100% of the total booking amount.
Should you need to cancel the reservation due to unforeseen circumstances such as bad weather, airline cancellation, ill health etc, the same cancellation conditions as stated here apply.

As a precautionary measure, we strongly recommend that the Client purchase travel insurance.

The apartment provider reserves the right to cancel or alter the booking if:
1. If the guest(s) are not able to pay the pre-payment and/or remaining balance upon arrival.2. If the guest(s) are not able to show their passport, id card or drivers license upon arrival.3. If the guest(s) are not able to provide a security deposit in form of a valid credit card.4. The apartment(s) or part of it is closed due to circumstances beyond its control.5. It prejudices the reputation or causes or might cause in the apartment providers opinion, damage to the apartments and its common areas.6. The apartment provider becomes insolvent or enters into liquidation or receivership.
The apartment provider will not be liable for any delay, loss, damage or expenses incurred if your booking needs to be altered or cancelled or the apartment provider is unable to perform the contractual obligations as a result of events beyond his reasonable control, which shall include but not be limited to events such as war, civil strife, terrorist activity, labor disputes, natural or man-made disaster, fire, flood, adverse weather conditions or change of local government laws.
In any of these circumstances the apartment provider will refund any payments made in advance, but will have no further liability to the Client.
If the apartment provider receives serious complaints or any disputes arise, he reserves the right to terminate your stay without notice and refunding payments.
