Vacation Rental Description

CasaRoc is our two-storey, two bedroomed village house, recently restored and equipped to a high standard. The rooms are bright and spacious and the views, from the ample terrace and the main bedroom, are breathtaking, down across the Almond and Olive trees of the valley and across to the imposing peak of the Puig Campana.

We are in the top street of the village - no traffic, no noise - and you look down on the pattern of roof tiles of the old village houses below. Above us, the path winds even further up among pines to the Santa barbara chapel on top the Sella hill. From there you can see the cliffsand crags of the Peña de Sella towering up behind the village.

The main bedroom has a large double bed and the other room two singles. We can provide a camp-bed for a fifth place. The kitchen is modern and well equipped with a 4-burner gas hob and a fan-assited electric oven, Two fridges and a freezer compartment, a washing machine and sound kitchen utensils mean you can live well here . in summer the barbecue on the terrace is the favourite way to cook, and the pergola offers a shady place to eat.

There´s a full-sized bath and shower and interesting rock feature in the bathroom - hot water is gas-powered and the tap water - from Sella´s famous spring - is safe and drinkable.

Firewood and electric heaters in winter, electric fans in summer - this is a comfortable, double-glazed house with light and space all around.

About Alicante Other

The village of Sella perches on a hill between the twin peaks of the Aitana mountain and the Puig Campana. The village is lively and rural with a strong community life, fiestas, music ( a brass band and a string orchestra). Sella´s Rock Climbing area is world famous and it is becoming known as a walking and mountain biking centre with moderate and challenging routes from the village and in the surrounding valleys and hills.

Sella valley is green and fertile and the springs and streams make it unique in this hot Mediterranean climate. A visit to the recently restored Mill in the valley bottom will acquaint you with the thousand-year old irrigation systems of the valley.

Although the village is simple, there are two general stores, a butcher´s, two (wood fired) bakeries and 6 bars / restaurants. Sella is known for its food - Paellas. fish and simple peasant cooking.
