The exclusive residential urbanisation, Serra e Mar and Penina are just a 4-10 minute drive from the picturesque town of Alvor with its long stretch of sandy beach called Torralta. Together with the busy town of Praia da Rocha, these two resorts offer an exceptional choice of bars, restaurants, shops, port outlets and boutiques to suit all tastes. There are a couple of excellent local restaurants in the countryside surrounding our villas in these areas but car hire or taxi is essential to access any facilities. Portimão, with its shopping centers, restaurants, shops and traditional fish and vegetable markets is just 10mins drive away.

The main beach, which is a 10 min stroll from the complex, has over 4 miles of white sand and has fantastic facilities incl restaurants, bars, sun loungers and umbrellas (Alto Club guests benefit from complimentary sun loungers and umbrellas on the beach).

The village itself has gently evolved over the past few years to cater for the discerning traveler, while it still manages to retain it's old world charm with cobbled streets and white washed buildings. It is renowned for it's fantastic fish restaurants, although there are restaurants to suit every taste incl Italian, Chinese, Indian and traditional Portuguese. There is also a great selection of bars and shops and in high season the street traders and musicians add color and life to the streets.
